An Area in Your Home Solely For Web Browsing
Are you tired of being disturbed in your home library when someone uses the computer to listen to streaming music? Are you tempted to use your computer in your bedroom when you rather have a good night's sleep? If so, why not have a place in your home that is solely designed for Web browsing? Here are some tips on designing a room where you can browse to your heart's content without disturbances and temptations.
First, find an unused area in your home. It could be an extra room or a corner, but make sure it has at least enough space for a computer table. Once you determine the area, place a computer table that is large enough for your computer and its peripherals such as a printer, webcam, scanner, and sound system. For small areas, choose an all-in-one computer table with space-saving features such as built-in shelving for the printer or racks for CDs.
Where you place your table, and subsequently your computer, is important. The table should be positioned in such a way that the computer's central processing unit, or CPU, would not be exposed to direct sunlight. In addition, when installing the components and peripherals of the computer, make sure that you tie up the wires. Messy wirings are not only ugly to look at but also pose a fire and electrocution risk.
Finally, once your computer and peripherals are in place, it is time to add character to your Web-browsing area. Put a lampshade or a stand lamp nearby for warm lighting. You can install neon lights or a small disco ball for a more futuristic look. You can also place computer books and magazines between decorative bookstands near your computer. You can add additional touch ups such as picture frames or bobble-head dolls.
